Immediate Changing the Foot Pressure of Paraplegia after Realignment between Shoulder Joint & Scapular - A Pilot Study

Abstract

Background and Purpose: The purpose of this study was to immediate changing the foot pressure of paraplegia after realignment between shoulder joint and scapular. Subject and Methods: This study has perfonned single subject design from January to February 2007 for a month‘ The subject has paraplegia due to trauma for a month in Jun 2002. He was treated by Bobath approach four times a week at Special Physical Education Center in Yong- In university. In order to increase weight bearing at both foot pressure, the subject has applied realignment between shoulder joint and scapular on the basis of Bobath approach. The measurement of foot pressure characteristic was taken by F-scan system of Tekscan. Results: The results were as foIlow: The patient made a improvement with increased weight bearing at both foot and pressure of the ball of foot after treatment than before. and increased Berg balance test score 12 to 15. Conclusions: Thee results of this study showed that there was significance among realignment between shoulder joint and scapular who has paraplegia.
