Abstract
Background and Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of balance tools training for stability in normal adults at age 20 years. Subjects and Methods: The subjects of this study were recruited from Catholic university of Pusan 16 students satisfying requirement for this study. They were randomly assigned to participate in 2 times a day: 3 days a week balance tools training group or to not participate in the group. The balance tools training is performed for 4 weeks on a Dynair Ball Cushion, it is 5 minutes a session, 2 times a day, 3 days a week, aimed to standing balanced with legs. Measured with BIODEX balance system and the data were analyzed by Mann-Whitney U test between control group and experimental group, and by Wilcoxon signed rank test between pre-training and post-training. Results: In the experimental group, there were significant improvement after the training in the overall stability index of static stability, anterior/posterior stability index of static stability, Medial/lateral stability index of static stability. In the control group, significant improvement were not founded between pre-training and post-training.
