Abstract
Background and Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the gait velocity and pelvic angle patterns of normal women. Subjects and Methods The thirteen subjects were classified into twenties and sixties group. The gait were conducted on the two force platforms. It were filmed by 6 video cameras and used with 3dimensional motion analyzer system. The following kinematic variables were analyzed in relation to age groups: temporal parameters, angle of segments pelvic. All the data were expressed means and standard deviation by using SPSS 18.0 package program with a significance level of 0.05. Results The gait velocity in the sixties group was decreased than twenties group. The angle of the pelvic rotation decreased in 60s and significant difference was observed at RHC1, LTO1. The angle of the pelvic anterior tilt showed that it was increased in 60s and significant difference was observed at RHC1, RHC2. The angle of the pelvic obliquity showed that it was upward of right ASIS in 60s and significant difference was observed at RHC1, LTO1 RHC2, LTO2. The gait velocity was significant correlation by pelvic rotation, pelvic tilt and pelvic obliquity. Conclusion The study has shown that gait velocity was effected from pelvic motion in elderly women.
