Abstract
This paper presents the effect of abdominal muscle strengthening exercise for maintaining standing position in cerebral palsy after selective posterior rhizotomy. Single subject study was designed for this experiment with a changing criterion design. Abdominal muscle strengthening exercise was performed after general PT session and then the duration of maintaining standing position was recorded right after the exercise. The duration of maintaining standing position could be longer than before the exercise and the improvement in his ability of maintaining standing position could be achieved in a shorter time than before as exercise was performed. It was shown that abdominal muscle strengthening exercise had positive effects on the ability of maintaining standing position.
