Abstract
Purpose The purpose of this study was to compare the muscle tone of resting and maximum contraction of biceps brachii in young adults. Methods 77 persons(man 26, female 51) were measured the muscle tone using a myotonometer(Myoton Pro) in resting and maximal contraction state on the both muscle bellies of the biceps brachiies, and compared the muscle tone the dominant with nondominant hands, resting with maximal contracted states. Results There were statistically significant differences the muscle tone 1.5times between resting and maximal contraction(p<.05)(effect size=1.5), but there were no statistically differences the muscle tone variation values between dominant and nondominant sides on resting and maximal contraction in biceps brachiies. Conclusion This study can show the standards the muscle tone of resting and maximal contraction, and to help identify the meaning of the neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.
